New rules regarding the import of organic food products in Romania
The national norms regarding the import of organic food products coming from non-EU countries were amended from October 24, 2019. Among the main amendments, we note:
· The import in Romania of organic food products is made on the basis of a new model of the inspection/control certificate which needs to be attached to the customs declaration;
· Clarifications were brought regarding the rules which are to be followed when releasing the goods for free circulation and when placing them under special customs regimes (customs warehouse, inward processing);
· Importers of such products need to register in the European TRACES.NT system for beeing able to place the products on the market.
How does the above influence the activity of your company?
If you are an importer of organic food products, we recommend that you timely analyze the new changes so as not to risk blocking your import operations.
