Obtaining the authorized exporter license

In this issue:

License for simplified issuance of preferential origin proof can be requested online and resolved as a matter of urgency

According to a statement published on its website, during the crisis generated by COVID-19, the General Customs Directorate encourages exporters to issue the proofs of preferential origin in a simplified way by using the "authorized exporter" license.

During the COVID 19 crisis, the license can be requested online and will then be issued by the competent customs authority in an emergency regime (i.e. in less than 30 days, which is the legal term provided by Order no. 1191/2016).

Based on this license, an exporter may declare the preferential origin of the goods directly on the invoice of the goods or on another commercial document, without filling in a certificate of origin for each consignment and without the involvement of customs officers.

How does the above influence the activity of your company?

If you export goods outside the European Union and provide proof of preferential origin, we recommend that you apply online for an authorized exporter license to simplify your declaration process and limit the exposure of your staff.
