The annual statement regarding income tax and social charges due from taxpayers

In this issue:

Order no. 139/2020 on the approval of the template, content, reporting and administration of the form "The annual statement regarding income tax and social charges due from taxpayers"

The Order approves "The annual statement regarding income tax and social charges due from taxpayers". The form may be found on the official website of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration.

The form may be filed in hard copy, directly with the tax office or by post, with acknowledgment of receipt, as well as via electronic means, as follows:

  • via “Virtual private space” (VPS) service;
  • via “e-guvernare.ro” website, with electronic signature based on qualified certificate.
 

The deadline for filing the form continues to be as follows:

  • By 15 March of each year, for determining and reporting the income tax due for the estimated income/income quotas and social charges due;
  • By 15 March of the year following the one the income is earned, for reporting the income and settlement of income tax and social charges due;
  • By 15 March of the year following the one the income is earned, for redirecting an amount up to 3.5% from the annual income tax due to support nonprofit entities, cults and private scholarships.
 

Some of the new aspects from the form which could be noted, are:

  • Possibility to report the income from virtual currency transfer;
  • Gambling income derived by participation in remote gambling and poker festivals from Romania has been eliminated;
  • Possibility to report the income from abroad which is tax exempt in Romania, as per the international treaties concluded by Romania.
