Reimbursement of customs duties and VAT on imports of goods used in COVID-19 crisis
According to the regulations issued by the European Commission and the provisions of the National Order no. 1926/2020, persons who have carried out imports of goods without benefiting from exemption from customs duties and VAT on importation before the entry into force of these regulations, may request reimbursement of such duties.
To this end, the European Commission has drawn up recommendations and clarifications on the procedures to be followed for requesting the refund of customs duties and VAT from the competent customs bodies of the Member States.
What to do?
If you have imported goods that were used in the context of the COVID-19 crisis and paid customs duties and VAT at the time of the import formalities, you can ask the competent customs authorities to reimburse them.
The EY team is at your disposal for preparing the application for reimbursement.
