Instructions for using the Computer system for checking the traceability of wastey (SIATD)
By Order no. 1595/2020 were approved the Instructions for using the SIATD online application, in order to monitor and verify the correctness of transactions with packaging waste in the extended producer responsibility system.
SIATD allows real-time monitoring and verification, at the level of financial-accounting and justifying document, of packaging waste transactions for which the organizations that implement the extended producer responsibility, finance the costs of packaging waste management.
SIATD is used by the following categories of legal entities:
a) organizations implementing extended producer responsibility;
b) the economic operators that carry out collection, sanitation, sorting, treatment activities, intra-community development associations, administrative-territorial units;
c) economic operators that carry out recovery/recycling activities.
The use of SIATD is mandatory starting with January 1, 2021.
How does the above influence the activity of your company?
The actual implementation of SIATD will affect a large number of economic operators active on the Romanian market. For example:
Importers and producers of packed goods will easier justify the traceability of recycling operations upon the request of the tax inspectors, as we have seen during the tax audits performed in the last two years.
OIREPs will better monitor and in real time the quantities of package waste collected and recycled. This way, they will be able to limit their exposure in the event that some quantities of waste were not recycled in fact somewhere in the chain.
If you find yourself amongst the categories listed above, our team can help you identity the advantages of this new software and to successfully implement them by 1st of January 2021.
